NORTHAMPTONSHIRE POLICE can confirm that the extradition of Anxiang Du has been approved by the Moroccan Ministry of Justice in conjunction with the Home Office. Mr Du was scheduled to arrive in the UK at 3.50pm today (Wednesday 20 February), on a flight from Casablanca to Heathrow Airport, in the custody of UK Border Agency officers.
The Metropolitan Police will then take custody of Mr Du. He is expected to arrive in Northampton tomorrow morning, and will appear at Northampton Magistrate’s Court at 10.00am.

Anxiang Du has been wanted by Police in relation to the tragic murders of the Ding family. Jifeng ‘Jeff’ Ding, his wife Ge ‘Helen’ Chui and their two daughters Xing ‘Nancy’ Ding and Alice Ding were brutally murdered in their home on Friday 29th April 2011. The suspected murderer Anxiang Du, 53 from Coventry was declared the only suspect soon after the discovery of the murders and has since evaded capture until the middle of last year.

Anxiang Du appears in court
Anxiang Du, aged 54, from Witnell Road, Coventry, appeared at 10am this morning (Thursday 21 February) before a district judge, at Northampton Magistrates’ Court.
Speaking through a Mandarin interpreter, he confirmed his name, age and address. The court heard a charge against Mr Du, of four murders committed on 29 April 2011.
Mr Du was remanded into custody and immediately taken to HMP Prison Woodhill, Milton Keynes. A committal hearing is expected to take place tomorrow morning (Friday 22 February) at Northampton Crown Court.
It is not expected that Mr Du will attend, or that an application for bail will be made. A further court date was set for Friday 15 March, for a plea and case management hearing. Mr Du was formally arrested by UK police, after his arrival yesterday (Wednesday 20 February) at Heathrow airport, following a flight from Casablanca.
