New appointments at Bristol and West of England China Bureau

A brace of appointments at Bristol and West of England China Bureau will add key skill sets to the organisation as it steps up regional business initiatives with China.

Banking and insurance professional Michael Dando has been appointed as Director of Business Projects while Saso Puksic, a financial analyst at Wotton-under-Edge based Renishaw plc takes up the role of Finance and Business Systems Director.

Bristol and West of England China Bureau Chief Executive Dianne Francombe said:

“Appointing directors of this calibre and experience helps boost the Bureau’s profile and strengthen its business credentials both here and overseas.

“Both Michael and Saso have many years’ experience in a broad range of businesses and their insights into both global and Chinese markets add significant weight to our efforts to drive greater trade and cultural links with our colleagues in Guangzhou and elsewhere.

She went on: “Michael Dando has a background in banking including a five-year stint in the Middle East and has built up an extensive body of research opening new perspectives on China.  He has already identified a range of opportunities to strengthen the Bureau’s impact in this increasingly crucial market.

“Saso Puksic is a financial analyst who can speak seven languages including Mandarin Chinese – which gives us immense flexibility as well as an immediate advantage when meeting and greeting our Chinese counterparts.

“In addition to strong strategic financial acumen Saso has a great deal of experience in IT, process improvement and CRM systems infrastructure development which will be key in improving our governance, mitigating risks and efficiencies to support our Members.”
