Gavin’s wife, Jennifer, is asking for your help: “Our lives have changed dramatically since Gavin was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) in January 2018. He’s been in hospital ever since, apart from a brief break at Easter when he was allowed home for a few days. It was such a gift to have the family together again. The reunion was short lived though and by the end of that week Gavin was having another round of chemo.
“That’s what’s hardest on the girls, well, on all of us really, but it pains me to see them struggle too. How do you explain to a 12 and 14-year-old that the treatment they see causing their father so much pain is the very same thing keeping him alive and that it’s for the best until we find his matching blood stem cell donor? Without a matching donor Gavin has been told he has no chance of a future.
“Gavin used to go with his daughters, Natalie and Felicity, to their netball and hockey matches and tournaments. However, over the last three months his seat has been empty and has been creating a huge void. He misses his daughters and participating in their lives very much.
“We urgently need to find Gavin’s matching blood stem cell donor for his best opportunity at a second chance of life and to restore our family.” 🏡
Let’s do this! It can be done!
Gavin needs your help to survive acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL), and return to his family. It’s important that as many people as possible register at http://www.dkms.org.uk/gavin to find a #Match4Gavin or someone like him. Can you help as a potential #BloodStemCellDonor?
