“留学伯明翰,相识音乐节”照片展暖心登场
由伯明翰爵士音乐节和伯明翰城市大学共同举办的“留学伯明翰,相识音乐节”的照片展在New Street Station成功拉开帷幕。伯明翰荣誉市长Cllr Carl Rice主持开幕式并致辞,同时出席的还有知名音乐人、当地媒体、国会议员、企业领袖以及中国留学生代表等30余人。 “留学伯明翰,相识音乐节”照片展艺术实践活动的宗旨是通过艺术,帮助中国留学生更好地融入英国文化,目前已经成功举办过两届,并得到NETWORK RAIL、企业HORTONS’ ESTATE以及BBC的大力支持。 每年七月,荷兰摄影师Merlin Daleman在音乐节期间不仅拍摄来自世界各地音乐家的演出,也抓拍中国留学生参与音乐节艺术活动的瞬间。并在摄影讲座中运用个人作品作为教材,分享自己作为摄影师的经历和经验,帮助留学生提高摄影技巧,逐步确立个人的摄影风格。Merlin Daleman受聘于《新鹿特丹商报》,曾多次获得荷兰新闻纪实摄影最高奖Silver Camera Awards,现担任North Sea Jazz Festival特约摄影师。 每年十二月至一月期间,Merlin Daleman的作品以“留学伯明翰,相识音乐节”为主题,在New Street Station展出。在Senior Lecturer Phil Thomson的指导下,伯明翰城市大学艺术设计的学生们协助照片展的排版及布局工作。 这次音乐节实践活动同样为中国留学生提供了不少机会,来自考文垂大学21世纪媒体实践专业的留学生代表左维亚对此深有体会。基于左维亚曾经在国内媒体担任主持人的经验,音乐节为她提供了在BBC主持专场活动的机会。她以音乐节为素材,以Proud Of Yourself为主题拍摄的纪录片,不仅在国内外视频网站上广泛传播,还让她以Distinction(一等学位)的成绩荣誉毕业。而来自伯明翰城市大学的唐楚红也通过在音乐节的实践,积累到文化赞助申请和维护的宝贵经验。 伯明翰爵士音乐节首席执行官 Jim Simpson表示, “很高兴能够与伯明翰城市大学合作举办照片展。2016年是伯明翰城市大学中国办公室成立十周年,也是中国留学生参与音乐节实践活动十周年,在过去十年,已经有两百位中国学生通过参与音乐节,更好地了解并融入英国主流文化。相信在未来的黄金十年,将有更多的留学生通过音乐节展现文化艺术方面的创新思维和才华,为中英文化交流做出更杰出的贡献”。 ————Advert————
