A Cumbrian tourism group has won praise at a national awards ceremony for its positive and welcoming approach to attracting more visitors from China.
Hosted by Burges Salmon, the popular networking event will be attended by Universities, Colleges and Training suppliers as well as businesses with an interest in trading with China.
The UK Government claimed that the October 2015 state visit to the UK by President Xi generated more than £40 billion in commercial deals, and established in a “new global partnership” between China and the UK.
The group were also accompanied by Nick Whittingham, Consul General at the British Consulate-General in Wuhan.
Birmingham City University is in talks to form closer ties with China’s largest national broadcasting network CCTV.
