國際婦女日表揚女性貢獻 – 2nd Woman Volunteer of the Year launch
3月8日是一年一度的国际妇女日, 旨在表扬女性对社会的贡献, 提高女性权益意识及促进大众正视相关议题. 适逢今年是北京声明及行动平台签署20周年, 联合国亦于2014-15年度举办一连串项目 (Beijing+20 Campaign) 来纪念这个推进全球女性权益, 促进男女平等的重要里程碑. 该声明于95年9月由联合国在北京举办的第四届全球女性会议中定明;达189个政府签署及多名维权者见证. 声明主要针对12个范筹, 当中包括女性自主权, 平等的学习机会, 同工同酬及在不受暴力和歧视威胁的环境下生活. 而华人资料及咨询中心（CIAC）亦选择在今年的3月8日国际妇女日推出第二届女性志愿者年度奖以表扬优秀女性志愿者对在英华社作出贡献。本次活动获一•威斯敏斯特（One Westminster）支持及莎士比利公司（Shaftesbury PLC）赞助。 华人资料及咨询中心主席杨庆权太平绅士称：「志愿者制度于二战后渐渐被确立，近年则主力结合政府，商界及民间力量为社会上有需要的人士服务。我们一直都很重视志愿者对中心的贡献。他们来自不同种族，背景;各人不收分文利用自己的专业，兴趣为华社服务，助华人渡过难关。举办这次年度奖是希望借此表扬为华社默默耕耘的女性志愿者; 提名人可直接联系我们索取提名表格。年度奖项更将于本年稍后时间在上议院颁发。」 而作为伦敦华埠的业主莎士比利有限公司呼吁各位把握机会，提名你身边的女性，让大家分享她们的非凡故事，感谢她们为华社作出的贡献。 被提名人所需资格： – 在英国有合法居留 – 为在英华人社区的志愿者 – 曾参与志愿工作至少6个月 – 女性，需年满18岁 提名现已开始，截止日期为2015年7月31日周5下午5时。 索取申请表格，或了解更多信息，请联系[email protected]或请致电02074370112，同时请关注网站www.ciac.co.uk更新。
