The 2015 Mulan Awards For Chinese Women – Is Now Open For Nomination

Award winners will be announced at the Mulan Awards Ceremony and Black Tie Dinner on 9 November at the prestigious Corinthia Hotel, London.

The Mulan Foundation Network launches the nominations of the 2015 Mulan Awards this year.

In its second year, the Mulan Awards aim to recognise and honour the achievements and success of Chinese women in the UK and elsewhere. This annual event for the Charity is hosted by the Chairman, Mei Sim Lai OBE DL and the Trustees of Mulan Foundation Network.

The 2015 eight Award Categories are:

– Young Achiever

– Contribution to Education

– Contribution to Arts & Culture

– Contribution to Science & Technology

– Contribution to Business & Enterprise

– Contribution to Charitable causes and Philanthropy

– Contribution to Public service and Community

– Outstanding contribution at the International level

Nominations open from now and will close on 23 October 2015. Nominees (Chinese women or half Chinese women) can be from the UK or based in China or other parts of the world.

Mei Sim Lai OBE DL, Mulan Foundation Network Chairman, says: “In the UK, Chinese women generally keep a low profile and there is a need to recognise their achievements and success. We hope that the Mulan Awards will help connect Chinese women globally so that we build a ‘Magnolia’ army and a real force for good in the world.”

Mulan means Magnolia flower but the charity is named after the beloved and legendary General Hua Mulan who masqueraded as a man to save her family and honour the country. Her name is synonymous with the word “heroine” for hundreds of years in Chinese society and culture.

Award winners will be announced at the 2015 Mulan Awards Ceremony on Monday 9 November at Corinthia Hotel at Whitehall Place, London.
