With only days to go until the UK General Election, the BC Project will be hosting a special Question Time-style discussion with British Chinese representatives from four major political parties. This will be an audience-led opportunity for people to engage directly with our panel on issues they care about.
Whilst covering a range of hot election topics, we also aim to have a wider debate about the place of the Chinese in Britain within our political system, culture and society, and discuss what can be done across all parties to look at representation in general, and ensure British Chinese people are better represented post-election.
The event will be held at the brand new China Exchange centre in London Chinatown Monday 5 May 2015, and is kindly sponsored by Sir David Tang.
Doors open from 6.30pm and the discussion will take place from 7-9pm.
The panel will consist of:
1) Steven Cheung, Liberal Democrats, Parliamentary Candidate in Walthamstow.
2) Johnny Luk, Conservatives, Political Advisor to Chinese Friends of the Conservatives.
3) Ashton McGregor, Labour Party, Vice-Chair of Chinese for Labour
4) James Chan, Green Party, Parliamentary Candidate in St Helens South.
