Getting started and involved in politics for the British Chinese community

The Conservative Friends of the Chinese invited 50 individuals from the British Chinese community who were interested in becoming more involved in the Conservative Party, and particularly in applying to be a Parliamentary Candidate for the next General Election.

The event was held at the Conservative Party Headquarters in London and included high level speakers such as Rt. Hon. Sir Patrick McLoughlin MP, Amanda Sater , Alok Sharma MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP .

Other speakers included Jackson Ng who stood for the Conservative Party in the last General Election.

The event was the first of its kind for the British Chinese community and showed that the British Chinese community are now increasing their profiles and voices in British politics and that the Conservative Friends of the Chinese have been instrumental in such a movement.
