London Solicitor Joyce Li appointed committee member for Hong Kong Society

A solicitor from one of London’s leading full service law firms Mackrell Turner Garrett has been appointed as a committee member to the prominent Hong Kong Society.

Joyce Li, who is currently completing her training with the firm, has been selected as the committee’s latest member based upon her expertise of the legal market in Hong Kong.

Joyce joined Mackrell Turner Garrett in 2014. She is fluent in Cantonese and proficient in Mandarin and specialises in litigation and Hong Kong immigration. She has also assisted with dependent visas, student visas and particularly expatriates wishing to obtain employment visas.

Speaking following her appointment, Joyce said: “I am absolutely delighted to be selected as a committee member for the Hong Kong society. It truly is a great honour and I intend to use my new position to improve links between the UK and Hong Kong.”

With more than 800 members, the Hong Kong Society is one of the largest organisations to promote cultural and professional links between Hong Kong and the UK.

Nigel Rowley, Managing Partner at Mackrell Turner Garrett and President of the London Chapter of the US China Global Investment & Trade Association, said: “Southeast Asia is a massive market and Hong Kong is the region’s international hub where a lot of important trade between the West and Far East takes place.

“The Hong Kong Society is an integral part of UK relations with the region and I am sure that Joyce will gain a useful insight on the country and its regional partners from being a committee member.”
