Red Dragonfly Productions looking for stories from the Chinese communities

Do you have a story to tell – send it to Red Dragonfly Productions for a chance to develop your story for the theatre and to win £1000!

Be it traditional legends or modern tales, they want to hear from UK’s Chinese communities and those with Chinese heritage living in the UK for our Taking Flight Festival (supported by Arts Council England) in 2018.

This competition is open to anyone interested in writing, of any ability or experience, and our in-house playwright will mentor and support selected applicants through the script development.

Deadline: 1 October 2017, Applicants needs to be over 18 and based in the UK.

Interested in submitting your story but not sure about it? Taking Flight Showcase is available at The Rotunda Theatre in Buxton 19-22 July 2017 and you can check out 2017’s two winning stories Ketchup’ by Sammy Wong and Hema and Anjali’ by Chandni Lakhani, and an example of a script-in-development in the performed reading of Breaking Good’ by Michael Le.
