This August, don’t miss a truly unique collaboration between Shanghai Opera and Shanghai Ballet companies, as they bring two acclaimed productions to the London Coliseum.

Echoes of Eternity, a powerful, moving exploration of love and loss, a dance extravaganza that’s poetry in motion. It tells the tale of the romance between Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei, his beloved imperial concubine – a story of love, conflict and ultimately, tragedy. Echoes of Eternity is a co-production between the world-renowned Shanghai Ballet and the Shanghai Grand Theatre, featuring choreography by Patrick de Bana that brings the romance of 8th-century China firmly into the present day.

Thunderstorm, an award-winning modern opera about family, society and corruption. Zhou Puyuan is the head of a wealthy, successful and seemingly happy Shanghai household. But a storm is gathering…

The Shanghai Season is supported by MG Motor. Thunderstorm runs at the London Coliseum from 11-14 August and Echoes of Eternity from 17-21 August.
