[email protected] is a monthly lecture and networking series aiming to inspire, motivate and energise people. Talks will range from topics such as business, culture, entrepreneurship, and personal development.

Every 4th month there will be a panel debate focussing on topics relating to the Chinese Community. The first Talk event ‘Securing top jobs and executing effectively to get promoted’ is on Monday 21 July at the Chinese Community Centre in London Chinatown.

Guest speaker Johnny Luk will be talking about;

how he got over his super shy demeanour to be more confident

– understanding the mindset of the employer

– how he established key networks early in his career that helped with promotion

– how ‘power play’ works in the work place

– character traits that will aid promotion

Johnny Luk – CEO of the National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs (NACUE)

Johnny Luk’s bio:

Johnny is the upcoming CEO of the National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs (NACUE). Before that he was in the Government Fast Stream programme, posted as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) at the tender age of 21. He was then Deputy Head of Strategic Operations for Entrepreneurship in UK Trade & Investment, where he launched a six country investment campaign in Europe.

He was Founder of Inspired & Hired, a Social Enterprise that became Runner Up for the Perm Sec Award. He is also the author of ‘The Grad Job Game’, a book on graduate jobs and worked with Lord Wei, the former Advisor to the Prime Minister, to launch a knowledge sharing platform ‘The Dream Foundation’. He is profiled in the ‘Visible Chinese’ index for high achievers in British Chinese culture.
