The famous Giant Yellow Duck is underway for its tour to Beijing this September after the visit of Hong Kong, China and Pittsburgh in the USA.

Earlier in May, local residents and also thousands of tourists from around the world showed up to see the 54-foot-tall special guest in Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour. The duck was capitalised by local business owners, offering duck themed activities, services, toys and souvenirs. Due to the extreme popularity of the event, the organiser had to deflate and remove it at midnight when the send-off celebration ended, in order to avoid upsetting the locals.

The next destination for the ‘Giant Yellow Duck’ tour is the capital of China, Beijing, with the precise location to be confirmed. Locals assume it could either be in Beijing’s Forest Park (森林公园) or Shichahai sightseeing district (什刹海风景区).

Beijingists are excitedly anticipating the arrival of the duck.
