University of Birmingham to launch Chinese social media, needs help with focus group

Do you use Chinese Social Media channels such as Sina Weibo (新浪微博), Ren Ren (人人网) or Youku (優酷)? If so the University of Birmingham needs your help!

They are planning to launch the University officially on Chinese Social Media channels later this year and want to know more about how Chinese-speaking students use these platforms to connect with their friends, family and the world around them.

To achieve this, the University of Birmingham would like to invite you to a focus group – with tea and cake! – Some questions will be asked in an informal setting about Chinese Social Media. They would particularly like to know what you would like to see the University of Birmingham do on these channels.

The Chinese Social Media Focus Group will take place on Friday 26 July in Nuffield, Room G22 between 4-5.30pm. The focus group should be lots of fun, will be a great opportunity to practice English and your opinions will really make a difference to the international work of the University and the engagement with Chinese communities here in the UK and around the world.

To reserve your place at our Chinese Social Media Focus Group, please contact Ben Goodwin, Digital Marketing and Communications Officer :[email protected]
