Within Every Woman is a film that explores the complex layers of healing and the role society plays in perpetuating the shame that silences victims of sexual violence. Told through the lives of 3 survivors of the largest institutionalised rape system in world history – they are referred to as the former ‘Comfort Women’, but we know them as ‘the Grandmothers’.

Within Every Woman has been selected by Hot Docs to be one of four films featured on Kickstarter.com, a crowd funding campaign platform for creative projects.

Director Tiffany Hsiung said ” if successful we will raise the much needed funds to finish the film and bring to life the stories of these Grandmothers. However, this project will only be funded if at least $50,000 is pledged by June 30th at 11:59 PM, so please help us spread the word by sharing our Kickstarter page with your family and friends”.

This film will bridge the gap between young and old, connecting survivors from different parts of the world in an effort to raise awareness and show the grace, strength and resilience of these incredible women.
