Every Woman’s Brand: Glamorous

Glamorous is a brand that has bolted itself from the wholesale industry to the mainstream fashion market. It ensures that every woman can feel unique and part of different trends, whilst staying current and hot. Turning heads at every corner, the Glamorous woman can be found in anyone.

Nee Hao Magazine talks to the team, finding out what makes the label tick.

What’s Glamorous’ story?

The brand originally started in 2007 and was predominately a fashion wholesale company who supplied to small independent boutiques within the area. In the past six years, we have grown into an international company, where the brand is sold in boutiques and department stores worldwide, as well as the sensational international online store that is ASOS.

The Glamorous online store was born in October 2011, so we are still fairly new in terms of trading online. Glamorous online is a global platform in trading and raising brand awareness. Here we stock all the latest trends and styles as well as keeping our customers up-to-date with our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest sites where we regularly feature new products and competitions. We also have a vast fashion blogger database who we love sending new styles to, as every fashion blogger is different look forward to seeing how they inter-operate the Glamorous brand into their personal style.

Who’s behind it and what pushed them to start the Glamorous brand?

The Glamorous brand is a family-run business from design to production. Glamorous was born out of there being a lack of fashion-forward yet affordable garments on the UK high street. We noticed that people wanted to constantly change their personal style and update their wardrobes. Our aim was to give that to the customer, by constantly updating our styles similar to those seen on celebrities and designer catwalk shows around the world, but at prices that everyone could afford.

Who is the perfect “Glamorous” woman?

I wouldn’t say that there is a “perfect” Glamorous woman. We believe fashion should be individual and accessible to anyone. We design clothing that aims to fit any personality and is suitable for any occasion. Glamorous is for individuals that are inspired by what they see on the catwalk and want to incorporate it into their own wardrobes. Girls that enjoy experimenting with different trends and styles and who find fashion fun and exciting.

Describe Glamorous in three words.

Individual
; accessible and affordable!

What is your ultimate style tip?

Ultimately, we think style is something that is very individual no matter how you inter-operate it from designer to celebrity fashion. As long as you are comfortable and confident in what you are wearing then that is what counts. We would have said in the past never clash your prints, but we are big fans of the print clash trend at the moment!

Tell us about your S/S13 collection. Is there a consistent theme, style or mood that it represents?

We are really excited about Glamorous’ Spring/Summer Collection this year, the early collection takes a trip back to the 60’s for styling, shapes and geometric prints. With the flare of a 70’s candy-colour palette mixed with 80’s retro varsity styles and colour pop.

But this is just the beginning of SS13; expect lots of neon, ombre and bleached denim as we are already getting festival fever! With the British weather not always known for being the most reliable… we have tried to create a collection that is perfect for if you’re going on holiday, a festival or a BBQ; therefore, pieces that can see you right through from spring to the end of summer.

What’s missing, if anything, in today’s fashion industry?

Glamorous is a fast fashion retail brand, which the UK market is quite saturated with at the moment, therefore once a particular trend or garment is born it is soon enough repeated, which then people quickly get bored of. We feel that it is difficult to achieve any style differentiation in our particular segment of the market.

We are constantly trying to design new and innovative fashion that people still find inspiring and accessible. In the near future, we are also hoping to start selling vintage garments through our website. We love the concept of vintage clothing, that not only is it recycling but it’s individual and unique.
