Japanese Boutique Xmas Pop Up in Hyde Park

Butikku will be operating a popup boutique in the heart of London this Christmas.

For 6 weeks only, Europe’s only dedicated retailer of luxury womenswear from a host of top Japanese designers, will be popping up in Connaught Village, the Hyde Park Estate’s retail and restaurant quarter, which is rapidly becoming a ‘must visit’ fashion destination for those in the know. The Village is also becoming quite a destination for Japanophiles, with Butikku joining the extremely successful Kurobuta restaurant and the Japanese-inspired ‘Kokoro’ brand boutique.

Butikku is neatly summed up by its name – it’s simply Japanese for boutique. It offers something truly unique to style-conscious women: a hand-picked selection of luxury clothing and accessories, individually chosen from the collections of dozens of top Japanese designers. Many of the represented designers have been selected for major runway shows and exhibitions at Tokyo Fashion Week. Several have also been awarded the prestigious DHL Designers’ Award in Tokyo, including this year’s winner Ujoh and last year’s winner Yasutoshi Ezumi. Other designers have dressed both Japanese and international celebrities, notably Somarta who has dressed some of the world’s most famous performers.

The retailer’s selection is for women who appreciate innovative style and cutting-edge design, combined with the high-quality materials and superb finishing you’d expect from Japanese production. Every garment stands on its own merits – there are no ‘fillers’ here. And there’s an added bonus in the exclusivity: generally, Butikku is the only retailer of these items within Europe, and it sells no more than 3 or 4 of any one style. Some of the most outstanding pieces are truly unique – being the only one of their kind in Europe. Butikku’s customers can thus be assured of finding something truly special that they won’t find anywhere else, or see being worn by anyone else.
