This month at Greenwich Dance, choreographer and dance artist Quang Kien Van presents the world premiere of his latest work: Lunar Shadows.
From the outer reaches of the ancient universe to a modern psychiatric hospital in Las Vegas, Lunar Shadows is an epic odyssey exploring themes of migration and displacement, and notions of identity and belonging.
Set against a mythological backdrop and comprising the unruly union of two earlier dance works – Patient 319 & Lunar Orbits – this new full-length performance is a turbulent clash of fiction and autobiography, immersing the audience in a dark psychological thriller.
“The themes that are present in Lunar Shadows…they’re persistent themes in my life that can’t be ignored and I have to address somehow.” Quang Kien Van
