The Chinese Welfare Trust – Fundraising Cultural Fair

The Chinese Welfare Trust are to celebrate this auspicious time of year by hosting a fundraising Cultural Fair on Saturday, 3 March 2018 at the China Exchange in the heart of Chinatown, from12 noon to 3 pm.

At the Chinese Cultural Fair you can visit different themed stalls and take part in interactive activities such as:

  • paper-cutting
  • calligraphy
  • Mandarin and Chinese character-writing workshops
  • Vietnamese Coffee and Malaysian Old Town White Coffee
  • Chinese wine (baijiu), tea and food stalls
  • 3 sessions of live instrumental music performances: erhu @12:30; clarinet @13:15; [email protected]:00 (Special thanks to Dr Cheng Yu, noted pipa player and ethnomusicologist, and performers from University College London)

There will also be a Chinese jewellery stall, a tombola stall, and a display of Chinese imperial costumes which you can dress up in and have your photo taken by a professional photographer.

Experience the elegance of a tea ceremony, immerse in Chinese instrumental music and witness the art of Chinese calligraphy unfolding in front of your eyes. We will also have a range of craft and fun stalls, so there will be something for everyone.

£10 ticket includes light refreshments. The event is free to children under 12.
