The Lanterns of the Terracotta Warriors comes to Manchester for Chinese New Year

Marvel at the spectacular, internationally acclaimed exhibition, The Lanterns of the Terracotta Warriors, which will illuminate the City of Manchester’s Exchange Square.

Commissioned for the Beijing Olympics Games in 2008, the stunning installation has appeared in iconic locations across the globe including Dawes Point, Sydney Harbour (in front of Sydney Opera House), Zagreb Central Square and Prague’s Hradcany Castle.

Chinatown, Manhcester

The city’s streets will once again be filled with thousands of traditional red lanterns and the night sky gloriously lit up as prestigious buildings across the city join in the celebrations by turning their exteriors red.

Try authentic Chinese and Asian dishes at the St Ann’s Square Street Food Village from Yang Sing, Tampopo, Ricebowl, Mei Mei’s Street Cart and Dim Dum Su.

Enjoy shopping, live music and lion dancers throughout the celebrations and family craft activities at Manchester Arndale with the Confucius Institute and Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art.

The Chinatown Dragon Parade and fireworks finale will be on the 29th January 2017.
