Trek the Great Wall of China and raise funds for the cancer charity or hospice of your choice

The challenge entails five days of trekking along ancient and remote sections of the Great Wall of China. The terrain is challenging but the panoramic views are stunning. At the end of the challenge there is the opportunity to explore Beijing and its Forbidden City.

It will be a journey full of fun, friendship and incredible support as people of all ages and from all walks of life challenge themselves for the cancer charity or hospice of their choice.

This challenge is not designed for Olympic athletes – it is designed for people looking for an amazing goal to train and get fit for. A number of the people who will take part on this challenge will have little or no fitness level when they sign up. Britain V Cancer is the perfect motivation to get fit, lose weight and have an experience of a lifetime.

Great Wall of China

The Beijing region is a wonderful place to explore this fascinating country and at the end of your trip you will have a free day and opportunities to visit historical sites. The wondrous enormity of the Great Wall will be a highlight and the trek will walk along, pass and finish at some of the best sections of this several thousand kilometre fortification. In contrast you will travel through many small towns and villages which will give you a feel for the people and culture of this region.

At the end of the challenge you will also get the opportunity to either visit the Forbidden City – the imperial palace of Emperors, Tian’anmen Square or explore the fascinating maze of Hutongs that are such an important part of Chinese cultural history. Regardless of your interests it is doubtless that you will find this challenge an incredible experience and one which will give you a unique insight into this vast and captivating country.
