Now that the exam period is coming to an end, it’s time to get out there and take your concert-going experience to a whole new level. And the best way to do that is by attending one of the many great festivals in the UK. There’s nothing quite like live music performed in the great outdoors during the summer. The days are long, you get to head out with your friends and enjoy some time in the sun, and you get to eat, drink, dance and sing along with all of your favourite musicians and songs.
V Festival
V Festival is sure to draw a huge crowd this August 16 and 17 when acts like Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Lily Allen, and The Killers take the stage to wow their fans. This year’s event will take place in Weston Park in South Staffordshire and Hylands Park in Chelmsford. And don’t worry because all of the performers will be at both locations, so you need not fret about missing out on your favourite artists.
Brentwood Festival
The Brentwood Festival is all about music, beer, and food. Over the course of three days, the best DJ equipment will pump out the live performances of musicians like Alexander O’Neal, Missing Andy, and UB40 so that over 10,000 fans can hear the music clearly and enjoy it as they dance and sing. The festival will feature 40 bands, 100 different types of beer, and three stages featuring the world’s best performers. This year, it will begin on July 18 and run through July 20. It will be sponsored by the Brentwood Brewing Company, and the event will benefit the Hopefield Animal Sanctuary and the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity.
Glastonbudget
Glastonbudget is a festival that will take place in Leicestershire, England. It runs from May 23 through May 25 this year, so it is a perfect way to kick off the summer season. Considered the planet’s best tribute fest, it also allows fans to enjoy free parking and free camping. Some of the bands that you can expect to see performing this year include Real Nirvana, Korn Again, Green Date, Knotslip, and Blurb, along with many others.
Bloodstock
Heavy metal fans can rejoice because Megadeth is coming back to headline a festival for the 2014 summer music festival season. They’ll be playing along with Saxon, Hatebreed, Crowbar, Down, Biohazard, Dimmu Borgir, and many others at the 3-day Bloodstock event running from August 7 through August 10. This is the UK’s largest music fest, and it takes place in Derbyshire, England. Get ready for loud music, rowdy fans, and plenty of fun.
